Process

    I complete a detailed charcoal rendering of the selected subject.  I photograph the charcoal rendering and transfer it to a Lithograph Smart Plate.  The plate is hand-rolled with ink and printed on Rives BFK paper on an etching press.  Each print is a numbered limited edition of five fine art prints.

    I reference my own photos and those of Tom Wacha. In addition, I reference books including Keystone Korner: Portrait of a Jazz Club by Kathy Sloan, Jazz by David Spitzer, Umbria & Jazz by Paolo Occhiuto, Jazz, A Photographic Documentary by Richard Williams, Jazz Giants by K. Able, and Jazz People by Ole Brask.
